About this lot

the supplier's own description
Whitman Better Little Books Lot - 3 Pieces
Whitman Publishing Company, Vintage Fiction
This collection features three vintage Better Little Books published by Whitman Publishing Company in Racine, Wisconsin. Originating in the 1930s, these compact, thick pulp pocketbooks became a staple of American juvenile fiction, combining serialized pulp adventures with illustrations and flip-motion animations.
Items Included
Master Detective Ellery Queen: The Adventure of the Murdered Millionaire (#1472, Better Little Book with "See 'em Move" flip animation feature)
Detective Higgins of the Racket Squad (#1484, Better Little Book by Millard Thacksen)
Johnny Forty-Five (Western adventure Better Little Book)
Condition: Heavy vintage wear throughout consistent with age and pulp paper production. Spines show significant chipping, peeling, and paper loss; Johnny Forty-Five is missing its outer spine covering with exposed binding and vintage tape residue along the hinge. Text blocks exhibit heavy toning, edge wear, and corner rounding. Internal illustrated pages remain legible.
