Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Closo uses, why we use them, and how you stay in control of your consent — on our website and inside the Closo browser extension.

Effective date: July 1, 2026 Applies to: closo.co & app.closo.co Reading time: ~8 min
Counsel review pending. This document is a working template intended for review by qualified privacy counsel before publication. Cookie names, durations, and third-party vendors below are representative examples and must be confirmed against a technical cookie audit before the effective date.

01What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kit (SDK) identifiers — perform comparable functions. Throughout this policy, we use "cookies" as shorthand for all of these technologies.

Cookies can be first-party (set by Closo) or third-party (set by a service we work with, such as an analytics or support provider). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (remaining until they expire or you delete them).

Plain-language summary: we use a small set of cookies to keep the site working and secure, to remember your preferences, and — only with your consent — to understand how the site is used and to measure our marketing.

02Categories of cookies we use

We group cookies into four categories. Only strictly-necessary cookies are always active; the rest run only if you consent through our cookie banner.

04The Closo extension & your existing browser session

Closo's Chrome extension helps you crosslist and manage listings across Poshmark, eBay, Mercari, Vinted, Depop, and Shopify. To do this on your behalf, the extension operates within your existing, already-logged-in browser session on those marketplaces.

Closo never stores your marketplace passwords. The extension uses the session cookies your browser has already established with each marketplace — it does not ask for, capture, or retain your marketplace login credentials.

Practically, this means:

  • The marketplace session cookies belong to your browser and the marketplace — not to Closo. They are governed by each marketplace's own cookie and privacy policies.
  • The extension reads and writes listing data through the same authenticated session you use when browsing that marketplace yourself.
  • If you log out of a marketplace or clear its cookies, the extension can no longer act there until you log in again.
  • The extension stores a small amount of local state (for example, your Closo settings and sync status) using your browser's extension storage. This is not an advertising or tracking mechanism.
Key distinction: the cookie banner on this website governs website cookies. The extension's use of your existing marketplace sessions is a separate function described here and in our Privacy Policy.

05Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by trusted third parties that provide services on our behalf. These providers may set their own cookies subject to their own policies. We use third parties in the following areas:

  • Analytics. To understand aggregated site usage and improve the product. These cookies run only with your analytics consent.
  • Payment processing. Our payment provider may set cookies necessary to process subscriptions securely and to help prevent fraud. Payment-related cookies that are strictly necessary to complete a transaction you have initiated are treated as strictly necessary.
  • Support & live chat. Our help and support tooling may set cookies to maintain a support conversation, remember your help-widget state, and route your request.

We do not control third-party cookies. Where a provider offers its own opt-out, we link to it from our cookie banner's preference center, and you can also use the browser controls described below.

06How to manage or withdraw consent

Using the Closo cookie banner

When you first visit, our cookie banner lets you accept all, reject all non-essential cookies, or open preferences to choose per category. You can reopen these controls at any time:

  • Use the button below to reopen the banner and change your choices.
  • Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it — reject a category and we stop setting those cookies going forward, and existing non-essential cookies are cleared where technically possible.

Using your browser settings

You can block or delete cookies directly in your browser. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of Closo from working. Vendor instructions:

Many browsers also support a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where required by law, we treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

07Your GDPR & CCPA rights

EEA / UK — GDPR consent

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on your prior, freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous consent before setting any non-essential cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies rely on our legitimate interest in providing a functioning, secure service. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

California — CCPA / CPRA "Do Not Sell or Share"

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA), certain cookie-based data sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising may qualify as a "sale" or "share." California residents have the right to opt out.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Use the Do Not Sell or Share control or set your browser's Global Privacy Control signal, and we will honor it for your device. You may also email us at the address below.

We do not knowingly "sell" the personal information of individuals under 16.

08Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use, in technology, or in legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you or re-request consent through the cookie banner. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
