About this lot

the supplier's own description
Two antique US military uniform buttons featuring the Great Seal eagle motif with eagle, shield, arrows, and olive branch. One is a brass button by Scovill Mfg Co. of Waterbury, Connecticut, with a "Scovill Mfg Co. Waterbury" backstamp. The second is a blackened or darkened metal button with a similar motif and no visible maker mark on the reverse. Both have original integrated loop shanks and measure approximately 0.88 inch (22mm) in diameter.
Condition is used. Both buttons show age-appropriate wear and natural patina. The brass Scovill button has surface tarnish and softening of detail on the high points of the eagle crest. The blackened button has substantial surface darkening and light oxidation consistent with antique metal. The loop shanks are firmly attached but show surface wear and corrosion. No structural breaks or repairs are present.
Suited to resellers, boutiques, and online sellers of military memorabilia and antique collectibles.
