Who pays duties and import tax in Canada?
Under CUSMA a courier parcel from the U.S. pays no customs duty when its value for duty is CAD 150 or less, and no GST/HST when it is CAD 40 or less; above those, GST/HST (5 % federal plus the province) and, above CAD 150, duty by tariff code are collected by the courier on delivery, with its brokerage fee.
