They refuse to investigate fraudulent bid walking and give you a cookie cutter response when you request it. Even with all of the proof and their own terms and conditions highlighted. Get the feeling they are in on it. Will no longer do any business with them.

This is very frustrating with the seller and Govdeals.
31 July, we outbid others for an asset. It didn't meet the reserve amount. GovDeals sent me an email offer for the asset. We had till 2 Aug at 7pm to accept the offer. We tried to accept the offer on the Govdeals site. However, no matter how many times we accepted to offer, it didn’t accept my input.
We notified Govdeals, the auction seller and customer service. On 3 Aug, the seller relisted the asset. The seller is Seller 30990 – CPTFL from Houston, TX.
3 Aug, we notified Govdeals. They took our information. Stating they would call me back. They did not! 4 Aug, we called again. Govdeals took our information again. Stating they would notify the seller and call me back. Two days has passed, Govdeals has yet to call. The asset is still being resold.
There is no customer service or customer satisfaction at Govdeals!

David Perkins Aug 3, 2026

They have ZERO Customer Service. You can contact them with simple questions, you don't hear back. They are now allowing SCAMMERS to sell and don't care. They are NOT a Government ONLY website. If you are willing to pay the fee, you can probably list with them.

MM MM Jul 17, 2026

be aware and don't do biasness with this company .. there will not going to get any help at all and basically they help scammer not the customer

I attempted to purchase an item (35' trailer) from auction on Wednesday July 1, 2026. With 5 seconds left on auction seller pulled asset. Called auction house and told them if seller wanted a certain amount then he should have placed a reserve on the item. Auction house stated that seller reserves right to remove item until END OF AUCTION. Okay, fair enough, I had not paid so it was annoying but water off my back. The next day (Thursday July 2, 2026) seller reslisted same item. When asked by myself and someone else why it was relisted seller indicated they were concerned that they did not have the title and wanted to confirm before auction finished. This seemed like a poor excuse considering auction listing stated that they had a clean title in hand. I won the auction in the evening of July 2, 2026 and promptly paid for item. I then called seller July 3, 2026 and set up plans to get the trailer picked up July 8, 2026. I set up a transport and paid $1,300 nonrefundable cost to get the load handled. Then seller does not return my calls or messages July 6 or July 7. I call GovDeals customer support July 7 to be told that seller had marked the item as returned to service and cancelled

Buyer beware! They will lie and deceive you about the vehicle's they are selling! Govdeals is just here for the fees nothing else! I guess when you're selling vehicles that need major repairs telling the truth would be detrimental to the selling price. The sellers sell by deception and Govdeals condone it for all they want is the fee. Save your money and go to a more reputable site!!

Jeffrey Lambert Jul 1, 2026

The cars are the same price as used vehicles and they are broken, the vehicles that aren't broken are sold for like new cars.

They were fleet cars bought with tax dollars or used in a business right off (tax dollars)
Why is our government making more money off things paid for with our tax dollars?

There are sheds on here costing twice as much as Amazon for a brand new one same exact shed.

The items are priced like I'm buying from a store.

The tax lien are fraudulent too. They redeem the properties before the paper work is finalized and you lose all of your money.

They said they would reimburse me for the scam and never have. And when I contact them again they say I have to work it out with the seller

This is not government run. It's run by criminals and scammers and pieces of shit who are out to get more of our money.

Go to the store. Anything with the word government is bad.

Government are a mob full of POS goons.

You think you will win a truck but 25 mins left on the auction and they put a reserve not met to make you pay more

The entire govdeals.com is a fleece market where they fleece you for whatever they can get from ppl trusting their advertising

Lets face it some car dealers are the scourge of the earth, and they are all over Gov Deals. I have been doing business buying cars thru Gov Deals for years and for the most part they have been good mainly because it was mostly municipal agencies, now that they are allowing anyone to sell mainly dealers and wholesalers the market sucks, they will say whatever they have to in the description to sell the vehicle and they know since you have to prepay before getting it there's not a whole lot that you can do about it, the last couple vehicles I bought were like that its getting to the point I just want to deal with the municipalities on here. There's no rating system set up so you can't warn future buyers about these shady dealers, I have asked Gov Deals multiple times about this but it always falls on deaf ears, guess they are happy with the money they are making but don't care about their buyers, so basically the customer service sucks

false naratives / fraud companys etc under inv from ftc for deceptions of biss

Jimmy Horn May 31, 2026

They are not a government auction site they were Houghton it now full of car dealers that want to dump cars that will not move at dealer auctions so they list them here . I have been buying for years but it has downgraded to place dealers can dump their trash on people who think it was government au lions only . They should change the name and come out of the shadows or a government entity. 97% is listed by dealers that you would never deal with

Thomas Doohen May 23, 2026

I will never use this site again. $30,000 invested into a Skid Loader I was told needed nothing by City of Jacksonville (Jesse) and Govdeals description. Machine needs $20,000-30,000 in repairs. Caution!!!!!

Brian S May 18, 2026

I purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe through GovDeals from Automotive Depot LLC after being told the vehicle appeared clean and that no rust was seen.

After delivery, the vehicle was found to have extensive visible rust and corrosion, including severe rocker panel, wheel well, and underbody deterioration, along with a large rusted-through hole in the driver-side front fender. The condition was materially different from the listing photos and pre-sale representations.

I immediately attempted to resolve the issue with both the seller and GovDeals, but the concerns were largely dismissed and no meaningful effort was made to address the significant discrepancy between the represented and actual condition of the vehicle.

Used to be a good site however now they have started letting private companies and individuals list things for sale which completely defeats the point of a website called GOVdeals. You now have to sift through a bunch of junk and sketchy no name dealers in order to find actual government listings. They also ruined the site with the redesign, it looks completely the same except for moving everything around and for the pages of items to not hold their place in the list and get resorted every time you refresh or go to a different page number.

Bought a 2014 bus from Joplin Public school district. Picked it up yesterday. They had stated that they were selling the bus without the tires shown in pictures but the bus would have tires. It had two tires on the rear instead of 4 and the tires barely had any tread. I could live with that.... but I took off and with in 2 miles it started overheating.... pulled over and found a ball valve for the rear heaters was leaking coolant. They had removed a 2 foot hose from the ball valve that went to another ball valve. I made it to a truck stop, and filled it with coolant. Had to remove ball valves and install 1" plug. So coolant problem solved... tried to start and just clicked.... jumped it, still clicked... Bus had two batteries in the battery compartment but I noticed 6" battery cables still connected to the other batteries...put in a third battery and started right up... they brought the bus up to the office for me and I noticed that 3 mechanics were trying to close the door on the battery compartment. Didn't think much about it until I started going over the chain of events.... can't start bus with just two batteries... they had to have started the bus then removed the third batter

Recently bid and won a 2011 International CE decompression school bus listed through West Ada school district in Meridian, Idaho. The auction had no reserve but said subject to seller comformation. They do not respond to emails on a regular basis and when I got a decline email they acted like this was a normal occurance. So I called West Ada Schools Transportation office and spoke with RD and he said that they will decline based on the value of the bus vs the final bid. If that is the case a minimum bid reflecting closer to what needs to be received to buy this bus or a reserve or both. This is the absolute shadiest way to do buisness and to let people think they won then tell them they didn't. The auction house allows this. If you want a specific dollar amount out of an auction put a reserve or put the minimum bid at close to what you want to get not $500. If the reserve isn't met no problem decide then if you are going to accept a bid or not. If the final bid is subject to seller comformation there should absolutely be a reserve imposed on the item. The seller is bait and switch to avoid incuring reserve fees or rates. The listing had a minimum bid of $500. This was met and super

I was interested in bidding on 2 sales on Gov Deals but I asked too many questions so was locked out of bidding by the vendor. Actually the same question a number of times because no answer was provided. Given this is an online sale, people need to know what they are buying because they have to PAY for it, PAY to have it picked up, packed and shipped and PAY whatever Customs, Duty and Tariffs are being applied. Therefore they would like to know if what they are buying will be marketable once they get it. But NO, you're not entitled to that information and will be blocked from bidding if you insist on ASKING. The most disrespectful site to buyers. I complained to Customer Service but do not expect a response. And as an update, I never received a response from Gov Deal's Customer "Service" because it's not there for the buyer.

Fraud and deceptive business practices. The auction is supposed to end at a fixed time. They extended the end 10 times (3 min at a time).

I had the winning bid and they manipulated the time for their preferred buyer.

Finally they knocked me off the system so their preferred buyer could have the truck. The truck was from Patrick Space Force base. I’m guessing the base commander would not like the fact that their auction house is dishonest.

bought a lot of 9 snowblowers and they all were no good. not even repairable ( within reason of cost ). the picture shown showed snowblowers in good shape and the ones that they gave me were in the far back of picture. each snowblower had tags on them showing whats wrong with them but non of those tags were shown in any pictures. only one picture of a bunch of snowblowers were shown.they were all unk. reached out to the company as well as Elie who is the rep. manager for the Boston area and no response.how do you people sleep at night knowing your scamming people who are trying to make a living.

You’d be better off sending your money to a Nigerian Prince. First of all the sellers are private businesses and corporations along with a few government agencies. The items sold are misrepresented and defective. Read the other reviews, all bad, except for the several good ones, all posted within a few days of one another thus making them highly suspicious. Stay away, the site is a total scam but legal because of the multitude of disclaimers their lawyers advised them to include.

Mark Munsch Mar 20, 2026

Great site. Many bargains available here.

CJ Mar 12, 2026

Complete sham.I won an auction with no reserve. My winning bid was $4k. After waiting 2 days with a note on the auction of waiting approval. My offer was declined and the item relisted. After I spent hours trying to get a reason the seller said he wanted $7K. Complete slimy used car sales mentality. I accepted all the risk but the seller who is unwilling to set a reserve will continue to relist and waste buyers time.

Called customer service line and had issues with website, and back and forth regarding once AGAIN I found something on the particular category and wanted to go back to catagory there was no way to go back until I closed the search and then went back to same site again without having to reopen the catagory for the listings again! Very cumbersome and unnecessary and time consuming! They told me to click onto something that didn't show up on the page I was looking at!

This company gets over on fees paid to them and does not have any concern for their customers.
The sellers on their website misrepresent their cars by withholding information that is important for buyers to know and as a result, buyers are fooled. GovDeals does not discipline their sellers because they (GovDeals) gets paid anyway. Their name is misleading because I thought they were a trustworthy company but they are not because they allow sellers to sell cars and break the law at the same time. Do your research on them before you sign up with them.

There's definitely something shady about this website and I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from here. I reached out to customer support multiple times (in search of a package that went missing and potentially ended up in their warehouse). Every time, I was forced to chat where their ai bot. The bot keep repeating the same lines over and over again, regardless of what you actually said. I was told someone would get back to me soon and have yet, to ever hear from a real person. This website is more then likely a front for other scams...

I bid on a small lot on govdeals.com from a seller named Sumit Garg from a very shady La-porte financial II company. I asked the seller a question if the lot has clean tittle and what rights are included in title. The shady seller pulled my winning bid off for asking this basic question. Nothing says shady like being offended by the question of clean title. What a scumbag seller.

Maria Kennedy Feb 26, 2026

A refund is due and every kind of lies, deceit and confusion that ever has said and done by Govdeals and as of this moment i have not gotten my refund. Every time you submit the request info with confirmation, days later they claim it was not received. They are horrible

Scott's Garage Feb 16, 2026

Have been a Govdeals buyer since 2010, when it was just government surplus it was a great site (aside from the random issue here and there setting pickup appointments with completely useless government employees).

However in the past year or so the site has turned to a nightmare. first of all website is now so slow and laggy as to be practically unuseable some days.

Last couple auctions I have bid on in three different states, all got miraculously outbid by the same hyphen-ated user name in the bid history, which may be a coincidence but seems very unlikely.

Customer support has gone to AI chat bots and is totally useless.

Used to check site every Monday and Friday to see what was on bid, but now I only check once a month or so when all the other auctions are slow or have no lots I'm interested in, since I can't stand to deal with govdeals regularly anymore. Used to be a great marketplace now just a last resort to deal with.

Trygve Westergad Feb 5, 2026

I won a generator on Govdeals.com (auction ended monday) but for some reason the email advising me that i won got sent to my junk box and i did not see it until Friday- 4 days later. Upon finding the email i went on to Govdeals, signed in and tried to pay for the item. It would not let me pay. The only option to pay was wire transfer. I live remote in Alaska so doing wire transfer is not an easy task. I went in to town the following Monday during business hours and attempted to send the wire. I went on to Govdeals website to confirm the wire instructions and i was locked out of my account. I called customer service and the representative was not helpful and rude.
I asked if this was normal protocol to require someone to set up and process a wire transfer in 4 business days? I asked how I can avoid these types of auctions in the future. I was told that it says under the payment section of the listing. I went back and looked and i do not see anywhere on the listing that it requires wire transfer. I explained to customer service that it did not have anything in the payment section stating it would require a wire transfer, it actually said “Payment must be made online”. She told me i

Dear Customer Support,

It is frustrating that the buyer is penalized for the seller’s mistakes. Your refusal to offer any meaningful solutions and the reliance on policies to justify this lack of assistance is disappointing. This approach is unhelpful and reflects poorly on your service.
