How is overstock different from customer returns?

Overstock never reached a customer. It is surplus or discontinued stock, typically unopened, so the failure rate that dominates returns pricing does not apply.

Why does overstock cost more per unit?

Because you are not paying for someone else's risk. A returns pallet is cheaper precisely because some of it does not work; overstock is priced closer to what it will actually resell for.

What is on an overstock pallet?

It varies by the reset that produced it, which is why the manifest is the thing to read. The declared retail and the unit count are on every listing.
