How much VAT and duty is there on a lot into the United Kingdom?
Above £135 a consignment pays import VAT of 20 % on the goods plus postage and customs duty by tariff code; Royal Mail or the courier bills VAT, duty and its handling fee before delivery, and holds the parcel about three weeks if unpaid. At £135 or less, UK law puts the 20 % VAT at the point of sale on the overseas seller — Closo is not registered for UK VAT, so a VAT-registered business buyer accounts for it through the reverse charge on its own return; there is no duty at that value. Can I get a liquidation pallet delivered to the United Kingdom?
Not from Closo: pallets and LTL freight are quoted and delivered inside the U.S. only. If you use your own freight forwarder with a U.S. address, a pallet can be delivered there; Closo does not arrange the onward leg. The parcel-size lots on this page ship to the United Kingdom directly.
What is the difference between a pallet and a case pack?
A pallet is a stacked, shrink-wrapped load (often 200–800 lb) that moves by freight; a case pack is one or a few boxes of the same or assorted goods, up to 44 lb each, that moves by parcel — the format that crosses the border.
Do I need an EORI number?
If you import as a business, HMRC expects an EORI number (starting GB) on the customs declaration and the courier will ask for it; a private buyer does not need one. Apply free on gov.uk/eori.
Can I pay in pounds?
